Gavin and Jasper

Gavin and Jasper were born to two geeks who apparently spend all their time writing about, taking photos of, and videotaping their kids. This is their photo album, video library, development journal, and daily activity blog.

Diyah! Diyah!

posted by Traci at 8:35 PM

2010 July 26 diyah 02

Our cats are usually well-behaved, but they have the bad habit of sitting on furniture that they know is off-limits. One of their favorites is Gavin's train table in the living room because it sits in front of the window and is the perfect bird-watching perch.

"Off, Burt!"

"Get down, Doozer!"

It happens every single day.

Gavin quickly picked up on this scolding and started yelling at them himself by reprimanding in a raspy voice, "Diyah! Diyah!" To this day, we have no idea what he thinks he's saying, but he says that word all the time when yelling at the cats and never for any other reason.

We found it particularly hilarious when Gavin created this scene with his Duplos recently. He placed the cat on the table and then promptly yelled at it.

Kathi Whitcomb said... That is hysterical; especially the part with his Duplos!

Eileen said... LOL at your description :-)

Cin said... that's hilarious!

Granmama said... Diyah means down of course, with a two year old accent. ;D

Aunt Kristen said... What a riot!! That blue Duplo cat and the orange table are just about the right scale to represent Burt on the train table. ;-)
